Thanks a lot for these amazing books!

“ Hello Tony, good morning from Germany. Thanks a lot for the beautiful book which I collected today at the customs some 40 kilometers away. This book is a further highlight on my bookshelf and shows many interesting vehicles that I didn't expect to see with Australian operators. Well done! Thanks a lot for your ambition to publish this excellent book.

At the end of the last year I had nearly no literature about buses and coaches in Australia. Now I have six excellent books: five directly from you plus your book published by Amberley in the UK. I am very glad about having these magnificent books on my bookshelf.

Tony,  thank you so much for these beautiful books and for your excellent support.”

Karl Kolemsky

“ Thanks for undertaking the work! It makes you realise the variety that you THOUGHT you grew up with was nothing, once you look at all the different bodies used interstate.”

Michael Smith

“ I have had a quick look through the book and it amazes me the variety and number of imported buses and coaches have and continue to arrive here – it makes it all so very interesting.  The book looks like another great effort – well done and thank you!”

Hi Tony,

The book arrived today in excellent condition. It is really fantastic, a very comprehensive book that gives me a deep insight into the Australian bus and coach industry. I am very impressed with this book as well as with your ambition to publish this beautiful book. Thank you so much for making it possible to order this book without complications. Many many thanks for your great support!

Certainly this book will not remain the only one on my bookshelf. Volume 9 is looking also very interesting and maybe the one or the other of your previously published books could be of interest to me.

Tony, again many many thanks for everything.

Best regards

As one of the last standing family members amoung the many who were mentioned in your publications I wish to thank you on behalf of the bus industry, historical and new. Things change and industries evolve but the work you have done will ensure many good things are remembered.”

Hi Tony,
your book arrived. The photo will make a handy built in bookmark!
Love the rear end shot of Mr Whippy. I love bus rears. Have to buy groceries so will have a flick through later. Just letting you know it arrived.
Wow it's heavy!!

Hi Tony

Graeme Lamb

Books have arrived and I grabbed the missing one from the ARHS. Bloody fantastic series, an absolute credit to yourself and those that have assisted. Looking forward to what you produce next.
Carl Millington

Hi Tony,
I couldn't put it down. I'm normally consumed with the internet but this is the first thing in ages that has kept me off it for hours at a time!!
I'm up to the AECs in Darwin. (!!)
I never knew there were so many types in Canberra in the 60s. This book amounts to a great resource on the government fleets though the ages and their backgrounds. I like how you add further information in subsequent captions of photos of the same bus types.
I knew I'd enjoy this. Thanks for making this fine and important addition to the series. These buses helped build up private fleets down the line too.
James Laforest

Hi Tony
Just a quick note to say that the books have arrived safely. Congratulations once more on such a great publication and another vital record of our Australia wide bus heritage. Thank you for your very kind words you penned on my own copy. I will always treasure your heartfelt sentiments. Take care Tony and all the best for both You and Amanda in the future. I hope we may meet again.
Kindest regards
Ray Mc

Hi Tony,
It is a wonderful book, what is especially great is that all these, sometimes obscure, photos have been recorded for posterity – thanks for the series, I have all editions except the advertising one.
Tim Williams

The book arrived today and is very good as usual.
I already look forward to GBNF 8.

Tony - permit me a wee joke - hopefully it will not be taken as derogatory. Thus far, I have found GBNF7 to be 'heavy reading'. My arms ached after 20 minutes of holding the book up and turning the pages. I was reluctant to put it down, but just had to lest I suffer some physical injury to my arms. The term 'a weighty tome' seems apt, somehow.
Jokes aside, GBNF7 is massive - in more ways than just its physical weight.
It is massive in its coverage of Aussie buses that once plied this nation's streets and highways and were familiar to many.
It is massive due to the sheer amount of photographs - many and more showing buses that are no longer around or barely remembered.
It is massive above all for showing a big chunk of Australia's history and the buses that were a vital part of that past - and even our present.
Tony, as you know, I would have liked to have seen certain aspects 'done differently'. Such as more focus on past buses at risk of being forgotten, ahead of current buses that might eventually suffer that fate. Despite my disappointment regarding such aspects, I can only commend you for producing a book that is very worthy of inclusion in the collection of any historian with an interest in buses.
Very Best Regards
Colin Davison

Congrats on the book. It's epic.

Thank you Tony.

Let me say, thank you for the book, I received it this morning and just glancing through it, has brought so many memories from my time driving with Australian Pacific Tours during the seventies and also a short stint with Ansett Pioneer Express out of Adelaide during the Eighties.

Once again thank you so much.

Yours sincerely,

I have been thumbing through your latest book #6 and I must say it is a credit to you the detail you have put into this book is outstanding the industry and general public have a lot to thank you for.

Steve Scott

I received the book yesterday and was grinning like a cat when I saw the Deanes pics.

The quality in published form is simply staggering and this covers bus types I recall and love.

It would be impossible to comprehensively cover how eclectic the scene had been over the decades but you have succeeded in giving plenty of samples to digest.

It was an honour to have it personally posted by the author himself and it will be a beacon amongst my collection. Love the photographs!!

Paul L.

Tony

Thank you for the two books I ordered, they are simply the best I have seen and loved every page of them a job VERY WELL DONE, I have enjoyed them so much.  Keep up the good work.

Hi Tony and Amanda

What a beautiful book that arrived today. Thank you for your beautiful book.  Wow. I'm like a kid in a toy store. So many coaches in there. Some I've driven, several I've been a passenger in and even saw at least one bus my dad had, he's sitting in it in this photo at the time.

Its my pleasure to be able to contribute where I can. I'm glad I could help. Book 3 hasn't left the lounge room since I received it. Can't get through a day without a look through. Book 4 will be keeping it company too.

Thank you for your book. Blessings to you and your family.  Its an amazing achievement to have given the Australian bus and coach world your books.

Chris Sellick

Great book Tony loved seeing all those old express coaches from the 70s 80s.  Well done 👍

Brian Korner

Thank you.

Your books are fantastic. I have just finished GBNF 3. The books are fantastic and it is recommended to read GBNF 3 and 4 together.

David Gottfried (Austria)

Just a short note to thank you for the delivery of the 3 books. The quality of the books is first rate and you should be commended. I will

have many good times just looking at the photos and trying to remember which buses I may have seen or travelled in over the over the years.

Thanks again,

Paul McGrath

“I am still going through GBNF 5.  Great that there are so many photos of vehicles from Croydon Bus Service and Invicta as they were my local route bus service during school years and provided charter services to the primary and secondary schools I attended in Ringwood.

Believe it or not, the bus I used to catch when in Preps/bubs in the early 60s is the bus on page 134 (or its twin), then this was replaced by the top bus on p135 which was to our thinking then simply amazingly modern! Also in the 60s I remember catching to school the bus top page 145....when we were really lucky the driver let us sit in the front seats parallel to the drivers seat and forward of the entry door! No seat belts in those days.

Thanks for all your effort in compiling these books.  The diversity of operators and equipment in days now gone is something that is great to be recorded, especially given how comparatively bland the scene is today. Most of the operators names esp in the Eastern Suburbs are very familiar to me.”

Steve

The previous books have been excellent and I very much look forward to this one.  Many thanks indeed,

Ty Backhouse

Have all the others and love them.
